The cannabis and LGBTQ+ communities are historically tied to each other – The legalization of cannabis in California is the direct result of LGBTQ+ and cannabis activists working together to allow cannabis as palliative care for those suffering from HIV and AIDS. San Francisco and West Hollywood were the first cities in America to offer compassionate use of cannabis. MMD honors this sometimes-forgotten history.

As anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is being passed throughout the country and hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community rise it’s never been more important to protect and uplift our community. PRIDE is also a celebration! To celebrate LGBTQ+ stories and perspectives within the MMD family we will be spotlighting employees throughout the month instore, on social, and right here on our website. MMD is celebrating PRIDE Month by partnering with LGBTQ+ Cannabis brands and industry leaders to raise funds and awareness for incredible nonprofits that are dedicated to celebrating, protecting, and uplifting the LQBTQ+ community.
